Where to Find Pantone's Color of the Year 2019

by Meredith Carey

In 2019, Pantone is going under the sea with its color of the year: Living Coral. The "life-affirming shade of orange with a golden undertone" was inspired by the protection and sustenance coral reefs provide, says Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute. "As our environment becomes more harsh - and people spend less time connecting with each other - this color provides a sense of warmth and vibrancy," she says. The color, which Pantone chooses based on its appearance across all areas of design, can be seen far beyond the sea, showing up across deserts, cities, and palaces (though it's as good of an excuse as any to get that scuba certification). Here's where you can find Living Coral around the globe.

Painted Desert, Arizona

Positano, Italy

Istanbul, Turkey

St. Basil's Cathedral, Moscow, Russia

Misool, Indonesia

Roussillon, France

Rajasthan, India

Antigua, Guatemala

Burano, Venice, Italy

Hawa Mahal, Jaipur, India
